Intro

For companies and entrepreneurs, it is always crucial to know tools that can add value or provide new dimensions of opportunity for the business.

Any tool, system, or platform that allows to improve or enhance how the company presents itself to the public or how it communicates with its potential clients must be at least scrutinized to check if it works for the business.

Moving on that line, as part of a series of blogs about Social Networks that add value to businesses, today we will talk a concisely about LinkedIn, a virtual curriculum, essential in today’s business world.

History

LinkedIn was founded by Reid Hoffman, in California in 2002, in conjunction with members of the founding team of PayPal and Socialnet.com.

During the year 2003, Sequoia Capital led the Series A investment in the company. And by August 2004, LinkedIn reached 1 million users. Three years later, it had reached 10 million users and launched a mobile version, due to thousands of requests.

By May 2020, LinkedIn had 706 million registered members in 150 countries.

LinkedIn has become one of the most acclaimed professional networks. With millions of users and millions of dollars in their favor. This company has managed to place itself in the business world. Even in some countries, it is necessary to have a LinkedIn profile to be taken into account for a job.

LinkedIn

LinkedIn is an American digital platform aimed at employment and business. With its main website (linkedin.com) and through mobile apps, this system is used essentially to create professional networks grouped by areas of interest and knowledge. Both employers who post jobs and job seekers who post their CVs.

LinkedIn allows users (both workers and employers) to build profiles and “connections” with each other on an online social network that can represent real-world professional relationships.

This platform allows employers to find professional profiles that best suit the vacant positions in their companies. In addition to identifying experience and areas of interest, they can get a portfolio, and go through their profile activity, to know ideologies, thoughts, and ideas that they have shared.

Closure.

LinkedIn is a powerful tool. As a company, it allows publicizing in the right way: all the experience, portfolio, certifications, and even updates of the company in front of potential clients.

As an entrepreneur, a well-managed LinkedIn profile generates a well-structured curriculum, which not only shows areas of knowledge and expertise but also opens the opportunity to share ideologies of thought, which can add value when recruiting.

To make it short: LinkedIn is a tool that considerably reduces the margin of error in a curriculum, allowing users to present themselves to the market in an appropriate way.
